I started teaching at Mary of Lourdes Middle School in the 2002-03 school year, and have been teaching all the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Social Studies classes since. In the 2006-07 school year I started teaching the 8th grade Computer class. I bring what I’ve learned through my travels back into the classroom and have visited all 50 states and 58 countries. I have been teaching 6-8th grade Spanish using Rosetta Stone online. I am also the Lead Teacher at the Middle School.

Curriculum

6th Grade:

Social Studies students learn about Egypt, China, Greece, Rome, Minnesota Geography, the Fur Trade, the land changing hands, immigration, and Little Falls history.

Students are combined into sections, one year they learn about the geography of Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East along with World War I, World War II, the Holocaust, and the Cold War. The next year they learn about the American Revolution through the Civil War, including a unit on U.S. government, early American history, the Oregon Trail, and the events leading up to the U.S. Civil War. The final project is drawing a map of the U.S. by memory.
