Hi! My name is Joni Primus. I’ve been teaching in Catholic schools for over 35 years. I love teaching first grade. I like to see the children become independent learners. I love seeing the light in their eyes when they learn something new. I enjoy seeing the progress the students make in language arts; they start off with letter sounds and decoding small words and leave first grade able to read chapter books.  I am glad that I am able to teach the whole child, working on the spiritual as well as academics.  I teach religion, language arts, math, handwriting, and art. I teach science classes for both first grade classes while my colleague teaches social studies. We have specialist for music, phy-ed, library, and computer classes.

Welcome!  My name is Jennifer Swenson and I am thrilled to be teaching first grade!  I am an alumna of MOLS and so excited to be able to teach where I went to school and where my children go! I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University and my Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.  While the majority of my teaching career has been in the southwest metropolitan area, God called my family back to central Minnesota and we have been living here for four years now.

My husband, Nick, and I have been married for 13 years. God has blessed us with two sons, Landon and Lucas, and our beloved dog, Leo.  Landon is in fifth grade at MOLMS and Lucas is in second grade at MOLES.
