Religion The next chapter introduces the gospel writers: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  We will learn more about the "Good News" that was spread and how we can continue this important work. Math We will work more with the addition and subtraction facts to 18.  Part of the work is identifying a "fact family." Social Studies We will learn about more of America's symbols. Language Arts The next and last reading book will be gone through quickly.  We may not read all of the stories.  There are a few stories about "plays."  These stories will get us ready for our end of the year celebration.  See the next paragraph. Language Arts Fair On Friday, May 26 we invite you to our classroom as the children will present plays and poetry.  More details to come next week. Field trip We enjoyed a wonderful performance at the Paramount.  We managed to keep warm at the park.  The children were very well behaved the whole day. Birthdays Today we celebrate Nicollet Gammon-Deering's summer birthday.  Happy Birthday to Nicollet!  On Friday we celebrate a first grade teacher's birthday. Library books Mrs. Funk is asking families to look at home for any library books as the inventory will be done by volunteers soon. Extra info: *Spelling test this week. *Test on Hail Mary prayer this week. *Mass on Friday.  Next week we go back to having mass on Wednesday.
