Religion Our chapter will tell the parable of the Lost Sheep.  We will learn Psalm 23.  Sr. Lisa Kittock will speak to the children about vocation experiences. Math The children will work with three dimensional shapes.  You can expect to hear the words: cylinder, cone, cube and sphere from your child.  Ask them to find items in the house that match those words. Social Studies If you have any questions about the time line assignment let me know.  We will begin learning about our country's history by studying the Native Americans.  In first grade we focus on the Navajo Native Americans. Language Arts Our stories this week are about the family traditions we pass on from generation to generation.  The children may ask you if they do some of the things you did as a child. Conferences The report card will be given to you at conferences.  I am meeting with each child individually beforehand to go over strengths and areas to grow. Phy. Ed./Computer Mr. Pollock will be available on Tuesday after school for conferences.  He will be at Mary of Lourdes Middle School on March 16.  Mrs. Funk invites you to the Computer Lab to read the stories the children have written during their Computer time.  You may also see your child's Accelerated Reader report. Rice Bowl We encourage the children to put change in the rice bowl during this season of Lent.  On April 12 the whole student body will put the money together and send to Guatemala. Extra info: *Parent Teacher Conferences- March 7th and 9th. *No school on Friday, March 10th.  This is for Mary of Lourdes students only.  The public school is in session.
