Religion Our focus will be on the events of Holy Week.  We will do a variety of activities to remind us of all that happened to Jesus before the resurrection.  We will have a "holy egg hunt" on Thursday. Math Our next test will be on Wednesday.  I will not send home the chapter review as I am using it for the test.  The rest of this chapter covers addition and subtraction with regrouping. This will be covered in second grade and is not required to be mastered at this level. Social Studies The last unit covers the many ways that Americans celebrate.  Our focus this week will be on holidays-specifically President's day. Language Arts There will be a variety of reading and writing activities related to bunnies and Easter.  A reminder to return the reading book when your child has finished reading all the stories to you. Rice Bowl The children are asked to return the Rice Bowls handed out at the beginning of Lent.  At our mass on Wednesday we will collect all the money.  This money will be used to sponsor the education of a child in Guatemala. Extra info: *Easter break is April 4-7.   *No school for elementary students of Friday, April 28th.   *Last early release day is Wednesday, May 3rd.   *Our class field trip is scheduled for May 11th.  Details to come home soon.
